Like a fish

Shirt: Kohls, Skirt: Thrifted, Shoes: Kohls

After a long search and many trips to check out gyms. We finally found a facility that not only has a pool but is pretty affordable. Unlike the Y, which was way overpriced. It had to be the most expensive place we look at. You're the Y people, what are you thinking?

We have been wanting forever to make swimming a regular exercise. But the pool in our neighborhood is essentially a wading pool. The deepest point is 4' deep, and there are steps all the way around the edge. Both things make it impossible to get any real swimming done. Perfect for lounging but not swimming.

But...
None of that matters now. We found our pool. And! We will be starting swimming lessons next Saturday! Can you say, excited?

I know how to swim, but I would like to work on some things.
1. Stroke/swimming form
2. Stamina
3. Last but not least. I want to learn how to do that flippy thing at the end of the pool so I don't have to stop to turn around.

Main goal: In about a month and a half, I want to be easily confused with a fish, or dolphin. Some aquatic, for sure.

Reminder! Enter in my giveaway. You know you want to.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday!

Awkward

- The weather lately. North FL cannot make up it's mind. We were in the 90s on Monday and now chilly willy. Silly weather.
- Nina's socializing skills. She growls at everything. Well, every dog. She likes other dogs and never does anything more then growl. But, other owners get scared. And then I have to explain that my dog is really nice, just weird

Awesome
- I am doing another giveaway - Enter Here {you know you want to}
- Finally, figuring out how to get Lou out of bed in the morning. Set the sqeezebox to play pandora in the morning. I can ignore it but it wakes him up. win-win
- French toast on a weekday. This never happens. We are lucky if we can scramble some eggs and inhale them before we have to head out the door.

Giveaway! - CLOSED

I have been working on a project this week. It has taken longer then I thought. Mostly, because I am working on it in small amounts when I can.

Last night I needed a little break from said project.

So, I made you a little something-something. A fabric yo-yo clip from a piece of scrap fabric from the project. And I would like one of you to have it. Aren't you excited?

It has a little alligator hair clip on the back. Making it perfect to use as an accessory for your hair, clothes, bags, or whatever else you can think of. I might have to make myself one, because it's so darn cute. And will match my project ;)

The winner will be drawn Friday, April 22nd.

Style Bloggers Map

I love this idea so much, I decided to share!
Linda at Rose a La Mode has decided to make a map of all style bloggers. This way we can meet up if we're close by!

You learn something everyday

Shirt: H&M, Skirt: Old Navy, Shoes: Gap

Tonight I have "bloggers block," as I so fondly call it.

Couldn't think of one thing to write about. I thought about my day, but nothing happened.

Lou came in a few minutes ago, and asked if I would make him so tea. I proposed a trade. I will make tea, if he gives me an idea to write about. He really wanted tea. So here we go...

You all might already know this. For those who do. Sorry to waste your time. Hopefully you liked the pictures.

He asked me if I knew where the term "blogger" came from. Of course not. Why would I know that?
"Blogs" were originally called "Web Logs."
When "Web Logs" were starting to become popular a reporter wrote an article. In the article he/she (don't know) rearranged the words to read:
"We Blog"
Eventually this turned into our lovely nickname "bloggers."

I can't not and will not testify this to being true. Why, you ask? Because I know how much Lou likes tea.

Enough to lie for.
;)

Awkward and Awesome Thursday!

Awkward
- Lou forgot his phone today. I hadn't left the house yet and he was just getting to the gas station at the end of our street. So I told him, if he could wait for me at the gas station, I would bring him his phone. We were both in a rush, so neither of us wanted to get out of the car. My solution, pull up next to him so that our driver side windows lined up and hand off the phone. He pulls out of the gas station, I turn around and leave as well. Now the funniest part of this "phone drop" was that there was a very confused gentlemen staring at us trying to figure out what he had just witnessed.
While in line at Publix, the gentleman in front of me was flirting with the cashier. She was telling him that she was going to take a 12 week class and it was going to cost $450. He proceeded to tell her that she should look into switching to a 3 month course because she would get more for her money. Um... What?!?

Awesome
- The extra 30 minutes I stayed in bed this morning to cuddle with Lou. Totally worth then having to rush to get ready for work.
- How quite the office is today. It's so nice.
- My headache from yesterday has finally decided it was okay to leave me alone. How thoughtful, lol.
- The new Hoya filters I got for my camera. Amazing!

Creativity is subtraction.

I am inspired. I recently found out about Austin Kleon.

Also, check out this recap of a talk he gave aBroome Community College in Binghamton, New York:

This is exactly what I have needed for a while now. I feel good. Hope you get something out of it as well.

Friday, April 1

You have been warned...

In case you forgot. Because I know I will in like 10 minutes, and then be fooled again. Today is April Fools Day.

I have learned over the years, I am very gullible and easy to fool. Doesn't take a lot of effort. Mostly I think because I forget what day it is.

Although, I am proud to announce I was not fooled by my bosses prank this morning. Remember a couple weeks back. They were doing a controlled fire on campus right next to our building. Everyone was sent home three days in a row because we couldn't breath inside or outside the building. So this morning, this was on the front door of our suite.

Don't worry we did get him back.

So you have been warned.
Stay on your toes people.

And for those who need some ideas:

Pranks:

Spoilers:

Let me know what pranks you pulled or were pulled on you. Have fun!
