Awkward and Awesome Thursday!

I'm super excited. This is my first Awkward & Awesome post. You can find Sydney, the creator of this Awesome trend here.

Awkward

-Being dubbed the medic of my office. Not very happy about this one.
-Trying to walk the dog while texting.
-The old man hitting on me. He asked me my age. "Younger than your daughter." Weird.

Awesome
-The 4 (yes, 4) boxes of Thin Mints that should be arriving from distant girl scouting niece.
-This wall art made by Life, Crafts, and Whatever. I can't wait to make my own.
-We are heading down to Miami for the weekend for my niece's 2nd birthday. I can't believe she is 2 already.
-Tonight we will be watching all of my fav shows. The line up includes: The Office, 30 Rock, Parks & Recreation, and Community.

Anyhow, this made me laugh so hard...

Counting Down

I can't believe it's Monday again.
Let the countdown begin.

But on the plus side, this will be on TV tonight:

Foggy days

This is what I woke up to this morning. Having lived my whole life in Miami, I have never seen fog like this. There is a building and a fountain in this picture. Can you find them? ;)

Dieting Pains

TGIF. Why? Because tomorrow is Saturday and I get to eat whatever I want (no questions asked).

This first week of dieting has been difficult. The list of foods we are allowed to eat during the week is so short that it is a little difficult to come up with an appetizing meal to make. I think as we continue this for the next few weeks, we will become better at choosing meals that do not make us feel like we are being force fed. We try to find little things that make the diet more bearable, like sugar-free jello. Man, that stuff totally saved me the other day.

So happy Saturday everyone! \o/ I will be taking any suggestions of "terrible for you foods" to add to my consumption list for tomorrow. Currently it looks something like this:

Mellow Mushroom BBQ Chicken Pizza with lots of ranch dipping sauce
Woodchuck Hard Cider
Brownies
Hummus and Pita Bread
Chocolate (and lots of it)
Thin Mints (if I can find some of those cute girlies)
Banana and Peanut Butter Shake
::I hope I don't make myself sick::

Maybe I'll document/photograph all the crazy terrible stuff we ate and post it Sunday. If I can stop eating long enough.

Dear 2011, I'm going to kick your butt!

Aren't you excited to read another 2011 list? Well too bad, you're getting it anyhow. And it is only the 3rd, so it still counts.

2011 Take Down Plan

1. Complete the Slow-Carb Diet. Not sure if I intend to do this for more than one month but that is the starting goal. Whole month of January Baby.
2. Read at least 2 books a month.
3. Try not to take things so seriously. I have enough to worry about without letting the little things get to me.
4. Buy a bad-ass DSLR camera (hopefully a Nikon D40) and take some bad-ass photos.
5. Take more pictures, period.
6. Bake more but only eat the results on Saturday (because the diet rules say so). Luckily, I just got a stand mixer to help out with this one.
7. Go on a vacation.
8. Work on crafts and make some cash.
9. Be more outgoing. And keep in touch better.
10. Better blogging habits. (because I just realized I have not posted anything about the holidays o.O)
11. Be Happy.

I'll stop there because I have 11 for 2011 (it's the little things people)
