Awkward

- 5 Hour Energy - the stuff is offensive to all senses, but it puts my butt into gear. 

- Waking up this morning, truly believing it was saturday only to be let down by the reality that it is indeed friday.
- My phone deciding to randomly restart through out the day. It has a mind of it's own and it's not well.
- Florida trying to take me out. It's way too hot & sticky. And now we have massive smoke clouds due to 15 wild/forest fires in the area. Low blow Florida, low blow.

Awesome

- Stuffing my face with amazing food last night at Food Fight.

- These lovely ladies that rocked it while I was held hostage by boxes & packing supplies. You gals were wonderful. Thank you again.

- Not posting yesterday due to massive apartment hunting this week.
- Apartment hunting. Some of the answers these people come up with.
- Being laughed at by a leasing officer at one of the apartment we looked at because I have a list of questions we like to ask. Guess what place we are not renting. We are seasoned apartment hunters, people, we don't play.

- Memorial Day weekend. Three day weekend, why yes please.
- I'm pretty sure we have a finalist for our apartment hunt. Still looking but its nice to know we won't be homeless.
- Modern Family! Why did it take us so long to start watching this show. It is HA-larious.
- You still have time to enter the Giveaway for a large ad space in June.

Awkward

- This notice sent out by the University - "The University Safety Council would like to remind the community that it is breeding season for geese. Take the following precautions for safety:

During breeding season, geese are protective of their nests and eggs. Avoid areas where geese are nesting or have been known to nest. If you come upon a goose or her gander, move quickly out of their way while facing them (do not turn your back to them)." - This seems unnecessarily intense for geese. 
- Lastpass is failing today and making it very difficult for me to do anything. 
- Switching primary gmail accounts. Why do they make it so difficult?
- Not being able to find one Mother's Day card in Spanish in all of Jax. 

Awesome

- Today is Cinco de Mayo. Who's ready for a party? Me, Me!
- Last night, when I got home. Dinner was cooked, dessert waiting in the fridge, and fresh flowers on the counter. What more could a girl ask for?

- Lou is home from his business trip. He's all mine. I have also decided, I'm never sharing him again.
- Finally made a facebook fan page for this little bloggity-blog. Check it out! I'd love it if you did :)
- Managing to send you the Mother's Day cards before Sunday.
- I have been working on the new blog layout. How do you like it?
- I have a surprise for you all tomorrow. Excited? I know, I am.
- This comic. It explains how I feel about style so well. And what I think we all strive for.

Awkward

- Tuesday, I woke up late. So I threw on jeans and a cute top, and put my hair in what I thought was a cute pony tail. One of my co-workers walked in and the words out of her mouth were "aw, you don't look cute today." Uncalled for lady.

- Easter is this Sunday! How did that sucker sneak up on me?

- Getting an Easter egg in the mail and my immediate response was "who stole my idea." Turns out it was my boss. She thought it was so funny that I was super excited to send eggs through the mail, so she sent me one.

- The candy bowl on my desk. It does strange things to people. I had a lady walk in and grab some candy saying "We are having a meeting in the other department and we really need a chocolate fix, so I came over here." I have no idea who she is. How did she know I had candy?

Awesome

- I get to pick a giveaway winner tomorrow. Is it you? - Enter Here {you know you want to}

- Saturday we go swimming. Yay! Lets hope I don't make a fool of myself and have to confess what happened in next weeks A&A.

- Lou's immediate response to the easter egg, "Open that baby up, I want nerds."

Awkward

- The weather lately. North FL cannot make up it's mind. We were in the 90s on Monday and now chilly willy. Silly weather.

- Nina's socializing skills. She growls at everything. Well, every dog. She likes other dogs and never does anything more then growl. But, other owners get scared. And then I have to explain that my dog is really nice, just weird. 

Awesome

- I am doing another giveaway - Enter Here {you know you want to}

- Finally, figuring out how to get Lou out of bed in the morning. Set the sqeezebox to play pandora in the morning. I can ignore it but it wakes him up. win-win

- French toast on a weekday. This never happens. We are lucky if we can scramble some eggs and inhale them before we have to head out the door.

Awkward

- Lou forgot his phone today. I hadn't left the house yet and he was just getting to the gas station at the end of our street. So I told him, if he could wait for me at the gas station, I would bring him his phone. We were both in a rush, so neither of us wanted to get out of the car. My solution, pull up next to him so that our driver side windows lined up and hand off the phone. He pulls out of the gas station, I turn around and leave as well. Now the funniest part of this "phone drop" was that there was a very confused gentlemen staring at us trying to figure out what he had just witnessed.

-  While in line at Publix, the gentleman in front of me was flirting with the cashier. She was telling him that she was going to take a 12 week class and it was going to cost $450. He proceeded to tell her that she should look into switching to a 3 month course because she would get more for her money. Um... What?!?

Awesome

- The extra 30 minutes I stayed in bed this morning to cuddle with Lou. Totally worth then having to rush to get ready for work.

- How quite the office is today. It's so nice.

- My headache from yesterday has finally decided it was okay to leave me alone. How thoughtful, lol.

- The new Hoya filters I got for my camera. Amazing!

Awkward
- Sitting at my co-workers desk and realizing there is a ziploc bag of bones not even two feet away from me. So I asked what anyone would ask in such a situation.

Me: Is that a bag of bones?

Co-worker: Yea, It's a cat.

Me: Why do you have a bag of cat bones sitting on your desk?

Co-worker: I have to go to the lab later.

Now, that is not a suitable explanation for having a bag of bones sitting on your desk. But I wasn't going to argue. #1, Because she is working with a professor to reconstruct a dolphin this semester. Honestly, a cat reconstruction doesn't seem that far off. #2, Because Lou and I have been watching Season 1 of "Bones" this week. Just seems like part of the theme for this week. Maybe an early April Fools joke on me.
- Getting all excited to make some muffins. Preheat the oven, get out the pan, put in the paper muffin cups, get the bowl out, and then realizing I do not have any milk. Not really awkward, just sad. 

Awesome

- This website I found. I was never really into FML. Just seemed depressing, but this one has the same type of submission process/idea but actually funny. Enjoy waste some time surfing this one. Dear Blank, Please Blank

- I will be getting some CASH soon from my tax return. Which mean buying some much wanted camera goodies. Who's excited? I am!

- This week is almost done. Can I get a, Hooray!?

Awkward and Awesome Thursday!

This weeks Awkward & Awesome is a combination of last week and this week. 

Awkward
- The controlled burning on campus last week. It is weird to see cars driving along next to burning trees not even 10 feet away.

- Sitting at my desk with a dish towel to my face because of the smoke from a controlled burning close to our building. (don't worry we all got sent home because of the smoke)

- Explaining to people that my dog looks like a wet rat because she just got a bath not because she is dirty. I don't think they believe me.

- The migraine I woke up with this morning. Not really awkward, more awful than anything else. 

Awesome

- Having basically all of last week off because of the smoke and spring break.

- The computer is fixed.

- Clean puppy. She smells so good. She's not very happy with me but she smells amazing.

- Typing up student evaluations of our professors. I have never had to write the word "Awesome" so many times in my life. The top words were "Awesome, terrific, and enthusiastic." Guess that means that we have very good professors working in our department.

-Taxidermy - It's just weird. We went to Clark's Fish Camp for dinner last night. This place is weird. Right on the river. And filled with exotic "taxidermied" animals {Is that how you would say that?}. Examples of what we saw: zebra, giraffe, bob cat, monkeys, lots of monkeys, lions, tigers, gators. And a bunch of other stuff I couldn't name if my life depended on it. 

-Also, the menu from Clarke's... {and no, I did not eat anything of the first 2 menu pictures}

-What exactly are "New Potatoes?" Guess it's better than "Old Potatoes."

Awesome

-Today is the last day to enter the giveaway! And tomorrow I get to pick a winner. Enter Here.

-Tomorrow is Friday. I think this is always on my "Awesome" list. And why shouldn't it be?

-The flowers my co-workers gave me because I was out sick Monday. Also, That I remembered to bring in a vase to put them in. Much better effect then the dixie cup they had been sitting in for two days.

-I was walking to my car today. Strolling down the sidewalk and I see something scampering toward my feet. I stop, mid-step, and the creature keeps coming at me. It was a baby crab. Claw raised for attack. Charging toward my feet. The thing was no bigger than a pack of gum, but it was determined to get me. Oh Nature, you're silly.
-Individually wrapped bananas... seems like overkill to me. 
-Being interrupted while making copies, to make copies. Really?

Awesome

-Saturday is my birthday. How's that for awesome? 

-Tomorrow we are driving down to Miami to celebrate with our friends and family. Also to stuff our faces. But more on that later.

-Only working a half-day tomorrow. It's going to be glorious people. Glorious.

-The shaking building I will be spending all day in. The whole 3 story building is shaking because of one lil' steamroller about 75ft from the building. Should I be worried? Also how much worse is it going to be when they start the actual construction on the annex they are building?

-Pollen, looks like radioactive algae in the lake outside our apartment.

-Students trying to sneak by me. "I can see you, I know you can see me too. Don't fight it, just say hi and explain yourself. If you do well, I will grant you access to your beloved professor. If not, get out!" Kidding, but if the professor is not here, you are just out of luck and I saved you a trip wandering around our ill built department. Aren't you glad you stopped avoiding eye contact with me?

-Today for the first time {to my knowledge} I was referenced on one of the blogs included in my daily blogroll. Check it out, Artmind.

-Lou, the man always knows what to do when I'm having a bad day. And yesterday was bad.
-Staying in bed for an extra 30 minutes this morning to cuddle. How could I argue with that?

-My Hair. It's in that annoying stage between short and long where nothing works quite the way I would like it to. It needs something, I just can't figure out what.
-A couple of girls came into the office and asked if I would watch their cake. "Watch your cake? Sure, I'll watch it... until you leave. Then guess what? I'm going to eat it." Ok, you got me. I didn't eat it but it was a weird request none the less. How would they know what I would do with that cake once they left? And who could really resist the powers of cake? Anyhow, I accepted their request and watched said cake for an hour, and didn't eat one bite, thinking, "Hey, if I am nice and watch your cake for an hour, you will come back later and give me a piece." Yea, that did not happen. They came, picked up their cake and left without so much as a "Thank you." Uh, didn't your mama teach you better? Psshhh.

-This picture of Nina. My dog looks like Buddy Holly.
-Words With Friends on Android. We all thought this day would never come.
-The v-day treats that just keep coming into the office. Rice crispy treats, red velvet cake with a cheesecake center, and lets not forget the chocolate.

-How sleepy I am today.
-While walking up the stairs, I kicked the next step up. Almost ate it, recovered by practically running up the next six steps. Best part, many people saw my failure. Nothing happened people, stop staring.
-How long its taking my fingernail to grow out. I cut it in an epic fight with a sweet potato three weeks ago and have had to wear a band-aid everyday to prevent snagging. That's not really the awkward part. It is awkward when people ask what happened and I have to explain that a sweet potato took me out.
-The fact that 2 of my awkward posts have to do with me being a klutz.

-My Valentine's plans for Lou. 
-Picnik.com I love this site. Very user friendly and lots of goodies to play with.
-The quote on my "The Office" calendar today: "You know what eats a large part of the day are naps. You go to sleep, it's light out, you wake up, it's dark. That's the whole day. Where did that day go? I have no idea." - Michael
-Figuring out today that I might be able to take some art classes in the summer.

-One of the professors in my department every morning telling me that I look tired and puffy. Tired - sure. But puffy? That is just uncalled for.
-Water in my shoes because of all the rain today. Icky toes.
-The mountain of laundry waiting for me at home. Not looking forward to that.
-The way the nurse pinned my arm between her elbow and stomach while taking my blood pressure. And if that wasn't uncomfortable enough, her stomach grumbled while my arm was pinned to her. She pretended not to notice. But we both know what happened.

Awesome
-My new Canon.
-Hiding little pieces of chocolate in Lou's mouth while he was taking a nap. It's going to be a good day, Tater.
-Officially lost 4 pounds on this diet, plus the added bonus of finding out the cause of my fatigue. Gluten, it's sneaky that way.
-Having a doctor that is willing to listen to my theory that I am allergic to gluten. I like having a doctor that does not think I am an idiot. Only draw back, 3 more blood tests.
-Not going into work tomorrow. Um, YAY!

-Being dubbed the medic of my office. Not very happy about this one.
-Trying to walk the dog while texting.
-The old man hitting on me. He asked me my age. "Younger than your daughter." Weird.

-The 4 (yes, 4) boxes of Thin Mints that should be arriving from distant girl scouting niece.
-This wall art made by Life, Crafts, and Whatever. I can't wait to make my own.
-We are heading down to Miami for the weekend for my niece's 2nd birthday. I can't believe she is 2 already.
-Tonight we will be watching all of my fav shows. The line up includes: The Office, 30 Rock, Parks & Recreation, and Community.
